Making Visa run to Kuala Lumpur in next two days. (I’ve already gotten 30 day Thai extension at CNX immigration). If I stop by Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur, can I get a Thai visa that lasts more than the 30 day extension I’d otherwise get by simply flying back to CNX? Or get a multiple entry visa? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about obtaining a longer visa at the Thai embassy in Kuala Lumpur after securing a 30-day extension in Chiang Mai. Responses suggest that while a multiple entry visa is unavailable in Southeast Asian consulates, a Single Entry Tourist Visa (SETV) can be pursued if the user meets certain requirements. For a SETV, it's necessary to make an appointment online and provide all documents as per the embassy's checklist.
1. Get the right visa for your stay. Staying here on back-to-back visa exempts/ tourist visas won't work anymore.
2.I'm assuming you're from a visa exempt country, except Israel. I recommend making an appointment at KL and try to get a tourist visa. However, they are getting strict based on your prior history, if you have any overstays, and if you have any existing tourist visas.
You need to make appointment online to apply SETV at Thai embassy in KL. Check their website and meet all requirement with checklist. Apply for SETV morning, receive your passport with visa next business day afternoon usually.
SETV gives you 60days upon your entry Thailand, and eligible to extension for 30days at your local immigration office.
two years ago I came on 30 day exemption which I extended for 30 days at immigration, then flew to KL and returned for 30 days, then left Thai. This year identical, except for upcoming trip to KL. No overstays.
