Can I get a 60-day extension for being married to a Thai citizen after my 30-day visa exempt period in Thailand?

Hello, I arrived into Thailand around April on a TR visa with a US Passport and did an extension for another 30 days and had to leave early July. I did a visa run to Vietnam and arrived back into Thailand and received 30 day visa exempt. I was wondering when this 30 days is up, is there a 60 days extension for people who are married to a Thai citizen or I can only get the 30 day extension? TIA

TLDR : Answer Summary
You initially entered Thailand on a TR visa and extended it for another 30 days. After a visa run to Vietnam, you returned on a 30-day visa exemption. You can apply for a 30-day extension first, but since you are married to a Thai citizen, you can also potentially apply for a 60-day family extension. This process requires that you bring necessary documentation and may involve direct inquiries at the immigration office.

Most offices make you take any 'regular' extension that you are allowed on an entry before you can switch reasons.. SO you will probably have to take the 30 day extension from this visa exempt entry you're on FIRST and then apply for a "visit thai family" 60 day extension.

BUT

You're out nothing by taking your wife with you and the marriage docs etc and seeing IF you can get the 60 day family extension before the 30 day regular one, all they can say is no..

One thing to remember when you "change the reason" for an extension (tourism to visiting family) that extension starts the day you apply so if you apply early you lose those days on your current stamp.
