Has anyone applied a covid extension in Chiang Mai? When I got my 30-day tourist visa extension last month, I asked about the covid extension. The response I got from an immigration officer was that I could apply for a 60-day covid extension before March 25th. Today, I went to the immigration office and applied it. Surprisingly I got a 15-day covid extension and I have to go to counter #3 at the main immigration office on exactly 15 to get another 45 days without paying any additional fee. Has anyone experienced the same 2-phase covid extension? Many thanks

Thank you all for sharing your experiences, hope I’ll get my 45 days of extension as informed by the immigration officer on the last valid day of my visa

That happened to me in Surat in February I got the “under consideration” stamp, did it in Bangkok today and got the full extension on the spot. Go figure

Standard. Nothing to worry about

Yes, that's how it works. Don't ask why, it doesn't make sense, but that's how the coivs extensions work.
