Hi all, coming to Phuket using Visa Exempt Entry. I understand I can extend this for 30-days. Is there any way to extend this further staying in Thailand without having to go and upgrade via an Education Visa for example?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The original poster inquired about extending their Visa Exempt Entry while staying in Thailand. Comments suggested that currently available options for extension might be limited unless under COVID-19 related conditions. It was advised that obtaining a single-entry tourist visa before arrival could extend the stay to 60 days, with the possibility of a subsequent 30-day extension, thereby allowing a total of three months in Thailand.
here's a thought, why not BUY a single entry tourist visa for 40 dollars before you come here so you're stamped in for 60 days when you arrive rather than the 30 a visa exempt entry gets you? Then you can extend that once for 30 days and that gives you three months here
Only if the unable to travel due to covid extension is still available. Otherwise you'll need a proper visa.
The easiest way to prolong your stay is to get a tourist visa before entering Thailand, this is for 60 days instead of the 30 days the visa exemption gives you.
