What should I prepare for my visa-exempt entry to Phuket for a holiday if I have a longer travel plan?

Hey guys sorry asked this before but just double checking. I'm travelling to Phuket from UK for 6 weeks very soon and have had many previous non 0s as I am married to a Thai. This time I'm just going over on holiday. Didn't have time to go down to Edinburgh to get a visa so going visa exempt and going to extent in Phuket for another 2 weeks. I havnt been in Thailand since December 2018

I've got 20000baht cash a letter from my wife stating I'm going to be with her on holiday. A copy of her Thai ID passport and marriage Cert. Anything else I'm missing?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A traveler from the UK is planning a 6-week visit to Phuket on a visa-exempt entry, having previously held non-O visas due to marriage to a Thai citizen. They intend to extend their stay for an additional 2 weeks and seek advice on necessary documentation and preparations. Key concerns include the potential need for proof of onward travel, addressing airline policies regarding longer stays, and the specific process for visa extensions in Thailand.

just so you're clear there is no "2 week extension" :O IF you come in on a 30 day visa exempt entry you can apply for a 30 day extension once for 1900baht at the immigration office where you're staying.

Good Luck, as people said the real problem will be with your air carrier letting you check in with no visa to thailand in your passport and proof of onward travel AFTER the 30 days you'll get stamped in for.

The airline is who you need to contact.

My friend works at a travel agent he is going to book my a flight to Singapore 3 weeks into the trip but just an intinery think this will be ok

Some airline companies will issue you with a dummy boarding pass for the return to be under the 30 days as you may get questioned on arrival at Bangkok airport. Your visa on arrival is 30 days, they may ask about your return date. Emirates did this for me on two previous occasions...

You ( may ) have issues boarding in the UK without a visa because your ticket is 6weeks and not 4 on the exempt. Play safe and buy a bus ticket or cheap flight out to a nearby Country. Ive been refused boarding in the past

Depending on the airline, not having a return date within 30 days may be an issue and you could be refused boarding.
