Can I extend my stay in Thailand beyond my current visa dates?

Hi, I posted a few days ago but need advice on my stay. I'm in Korat currently. I arrived in Thai on Dec 6 from the USA on a 30 day visa free. On Dec 28 I went and they gave me a 60 day extention giving me now until March 5. No one ever said and I never really asked immigration whether I got 60 days because of covid or ? My question is pertaining to whether I could get another extention or is it not even worth pursuing? I'd like to get another 30 days if it's available to me and really not into border hops but not sure if they would do. Any thoughts?

My long term plans are to go after a retirement visa and apply before I leave but my bank deposit won't season in time(60 days) and my pension is not going to thai bank either. I make enough on pension but they told me it needs to go into thai bank for 12 months to qualify. Figured I'd deposit the 800k and apply before I leave then come back when visa approved after the 60 days sometime. Thoughts again? Thanks all!!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently in Korat, Thailand, is seeking advice about extending their stay after receiving a 60-day extension on their initial 30-day visa-free entry. They want to know if it's possible to obtain another 30-day extension and express their intention to apply for a retirement visa eventually. Comments suggest that an additional 30-day extension should be available, and they could also be eligible for an in-country NON-O visa based on retirement without needing to season their bank deposit, although specific requirements may vary by immigration office.

Your immigration office granted you a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 BEFORE they issued you a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism. All Americans can apply for a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism, which will be granted. The last day you can apply for this extension of stay is March 7, 2022 (March 6 is a Sunday).

If the 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 is extended again, I expect you'd be able to get another 60 day extension.

You entered on a 30 day visa exempt. There is *NO* seasoning requirements to get an *In-Country* 90 day Non-O visa based on retirement (assuming your immigration office sells those visas). I recommend moving the 800K THB in a Thai Bank Account, and around mid-February apply for an in-Country Non-O Visa Based on Retirement. You will need some time remaining on your "admitted to" stamp, and I don't know how much time is required for Korat.

After you receive the in-country Non-O visa, you can then apply for a one year extension of stay based on retirement. This extension of stay can be applied any time after you have 45 days or less (30 days or less at some immigration offices) on your current stamp. Ask your immigration office for specific information.

they told me I needed to apply for retirement visa at least 21 days before my current stamp expires which is March 5 but that the account had to be open at least 60 days before visa issued. At least that's what I think I heard...lol

nope you have your wires crossed some how and that is incorrect information.

To get the initial 90 day Non-O visa there is no amount of time the funds need to be in a thai bank account in your name only. You just show it was transferred in from abroad

Now AFTER you get the 90 day Non-O and then go for the year extension that's when the funds need to be in the account for 2 months before you apply.

You are correct about the part where Korat is requiring 21 days left on your current stamp to apply for an in country Non-O visa at that office

That is a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 ๐Ÿ˜ฎ AND... it was added on to your existing "admitted to" stamp. Unusual to see it stamped like that, but it's what you got.
