Can I extend my 30-day tourist visa while waiting for my work permit in Thailand?

Hi everyone,

I came here in March on a 60-day tourist visa and extended in my base, Chiang Mai another month (good until June).

I then border bounced to Laos in June (from Chiang Kong) before extending another month in Chiang Mai (good until August).

I thought I was going to receive a work permit, but it fell through so I went to the Mae Sae border in August (thanks to the help of this group) to get another 30-day tourist visa (good until September).

I know this is not cool at all. I am in the process of getting a work permit with my new job. I am wondering if I can extend one more month at Chiang Mai immigration while my papers for my work permit process or if I am out of luck (maybe there is another option).

Passport is American.

I appreciate you taking the time to read this and thank you for the help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual has been in Thailand on various tourist visa extensions and is currently seeking to extend their stay in Chiang Mai while processing a work permit. They are asking if it's possible to get an additional extension on their tourist visa while their work permit is being processed.

Every new entry with Visa Exempt Entry can be extended once with the 30 days at your local Immigration office.
