Hi, anyone has experience about this?

If a foreigner entered Thailand using a 60 days tourist visa exemption and already extended the visa for 30 days, but is unable to leave the country due to recently giving birth at Samitivej Hospital, would it be possible for them to apply for an additional visa extension to stay longer? Thank you in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
A foreigner in Thailand on a 60-day tourist visa exemption, extended for an additional 30 days, can potentially apply for an additional visa extension due to giving birth at a hospital. It is essential to obtain a doctor's letter indicating the inability to travel. This letter can be submitted to immigration to request a medical extension, which may be granted for up to 90 days. It is advised to handle the extension application promptly to avoid overstaying.

I got Covid. I got a letter from the hospital. I followed the instructions the hospital gave me. Printed off a power of attorney document off immigration website and made a random maid in my building my power of attorney. Gave the maid 1500 baht to go up to immigration. She came back with a 60 day stamp added to my passport. Hospital will help you just ask them.

Get it done before they go on overstay.

Get a letter from the hospital doctor saying you are unable to travel. You take that (or someone else if you can’t) to immigration and apply for a medical extension.

Depending on what the doctors say it can be granted for up to 90 days.
