Hi everyone! I got a 60-day tourist e-visa and so arrived in Thailand a week ago. Can I already get the 30-day visa extension at the immigration office now, or do I need to wait for a specific time until I can go to the immigration office to get the extension?
I‘d like to stay 90 days in Thailand in total and would preferably have everything set as early as possible :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking clarity on whether they can apply for a 30-day extension to their 60-day tourist e-visa soon after arrival in Thailand. Comments indicate that the ability to apply depends on the specific immigration office, with some offices allowing applications when 45 days or less remain, while others may require waiting until there are only a few weeks left on the current visa. It is advised to check with the local immigration office where the TM30 receipt is registered to understand their specific rules.

You skipped the most important information, which immigration office?
You need to wait for a specific time to apply for 30 days tourism extension. But it does depend on the immigration office how long you need to wait. Some offices including Bangkok and Chiang Mai allow you to apply when you have 45 days or less with your current stamp, this is the earliest nationwide. Most offices accept your application when you have 30 days or less. A few would tell you to come back within the last couple of weeks left. and a few including Jomtien wouldn't accept your application until you are in the last week of your stay.
So it is the key information which office of nearly 80 you are going to use. Aka the office that serves the address in your TM30 receipt. You need to check your local office.
This is the general information for 30 days tourism extension.
Phuket immigration should approve up to 45 days early, at least they do for annual retirement extensions. You can ask by contacting the Phuket Immigration Volunteers at
