UK passport. SETV ends 22 Jan.

Can I extend 60 days based on marriage at my local Immigration office (Bueng Kan)?

Anyone had experience of Bueng Kan IO (strict and bureaucratic or relaxed like Udon?)

If so, do I need 400k Baht in Thai bank for this 60 day extension or just the usual 20k Baht for extensions.

What steps and docs are needed?

Form TM7

Photos x 2

Marriage certificate (and copies)

Wife to attend with me???

Wife ID, Tabien Baan (and signed copies)

Proof of funds?? 20k or 400k in Thai bank

TM30 (and copy)

Passport and TM6 (and copies signed)

Flight out confirmation???

No hotel booking as staying with missus parents. Or is it better as a "tourist" to be hotel based and have copies of bookings?

1900B Fee

Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a UK passport, is seeking guidance on extending their 60-day SETV visa based on marriage at the Bueng Kan Immigration Office. They wonder if their wife needs to accompany them, what documentation is necessary, and whether they need to show 400k Baht in a Thai bank or just the usual 20k Baht for the extension. Community responses indicate that the extension can be granted if the wife is present and that it costs 1,900 Baht. The office is described as generally relaxed but becoming stricter on certain documentation, like the need to report after traveling within the province.

Do I need to show 400k or 20k? And show flight exiting Thailand?

There is no financial proof required to get a 60 day visit family extension at the immigration offices

They are quite relaxed and friendly in there. But they are also getting a little more strict with some things. In the past years, I never had to report back after having been out of the provinse. Only after being out of the country. When I did my last 90 days report in start December, I asked if would need to report back after going to Krabi for the new years, thinking about other places has started to demand that. I was told I would need to report. So today I did. It was a new IO that processed it. Then when he looked in the computer he noticed that I had stayed in a hotel last summer (in Buengkan), and i replied that it was when our daughter was born. I did not report anything as its the same provinse. I have even done 2 90 days and my yearly extension in between.. He looked concerned/serious about it, but then his higher ranking college told him to overlook it.

But I guess that in the future, having been anywhere for more than 24 hours (not if its private and not registered of course) I will have to report after.

You can extend your visa by 60 days, but your wife needs to be with you. I believe this will be a 60 day extension of stay for visiting Thai family, and will be 1,900THB. This is NOT a one year extension of stay based on marriage.
