Went to Muang Thong Thani to get a 60 day family visit extension based on marriage. No success and left frustrated.

1 - was told that because we were in a Bangkok Airbnb and could not show a year long lease, that she could not do the extension

2 - to get the 60 day family extension, we had to use my wife's address on her house papers (tabien baan) in Bueng Kan

3 - had to apply in Bueng Kan and not Bangkok (grrrr...)

I'd appreciate some comments form the mods / experts. I was particularly annoyed that even with tambien baan from my wife that we could not apply in Bangkok.

a Foreigners applies for an Extension of Stay, a Foreigners writes down his information on the application form.

The address information on the ID card of the partner is not important for Immigration, If that should be the case, all those Thaise married with a foreigner need new Id cards every time a foreigner moves address,

Did you ever hear that story, NO, me neither,
Robert *******
I try again, YOU must have an address, you must be registered at an address, You can not use the address of your wife unless you inform Immigration that you life on that address,

These are the print screens of receipts used to show that you have an address inside Thailand,

The same thing happened recently to friends of mine, and the issue really was about the Thai wife's registered address, not the American husband's. The husband wanted an extension because the wife was being treated for cancer, and the IO accepted that they were married and that they lived in their own condo in Bangkok, but she said that the extension could not be processed at CW because the address on the wife's Thai ID card was still her mother's address in Nonthaburi. To get the 60 day extension, the officer said they would either have to apply in Nonthaburi or else change the address on the ID card to Bangkok and come back to CW. She didn't care at all about the address on the TM-30.

the owner of the airbnb here in BKK sent the TM30 by mail and tracking shows it delivered 20 July. They have yet to get a receipt. Even if I did have this, the officer at MTT told me that since we do not have a long term lease, they could not issue a 60 day family visit extension

is there a way to do a new TM30 online?

@Antony *****
Tell the owner to make the report in person or on line, He can make a print screen as in the example,

Then you fill in that address when you apply

thanks Rob. I'll have to redo the TM30 and ask airbnb to do online.

even if we do get the TM30 sorted, what do you make of the officers claim that we need a long term lease?

@Antony *****
Long term lease or copy owners housebook and id are used to let you do the report at the office,

cheers. I'll do the TM30 in person instead as I will be more confident dealing face to face than online. Do I lodge at CW or MTT?
