Retirement visa extension Non-O. My previous 1 yr stamp expired July 3rd but i was unable to extend because the 800k wasnt back in my account till July 1st (I had wrongly assumed that keeping over 400k throughout the year would negate the 2 month rule).

Can i apply to extend here in Thailand after Sept 1st, even though the previous stamp has expired? Thanks everyone ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring about extending their Non-O retirement visa after their stamp expired on July 3rd. They were unable to extend their visa because the required amount of money was not in their account until July 1st. According to community responses, due to current circumstances related to the pandemic, the user may be able to apply for a new extension without penalties until September 3rd.

In normal situation you had to leave the country on or before 3rd July. But with this pandamic and amnesty you can stay until 3rd September and apply then for a new 1 year Extension of Stay without extra fines.

So the extension can be granted to the expired visa, instead of needing to start again with 3 months then 12 month extension after. Thats amazing, thank you.

your original Non-O VISA expired LONG ago, you are (or were) on an extension of stay AND yes because of the amnesty you can actually have your current extension expire, take the amnesty days until your funds are seasoned and then go apply for the new year extension with no overstay fine.
