having a 1-year extension of a "non o immigrant" visa can I change my city and new address? se si entro quanto tempo lo devo comunicare al nuovo ufficio immigrazione?
Answer summary
Yes, you can change your address while holding a 1-year extension of a Non-O immigrant visa in Thailand. You need to file a new TM30 address registration with the local immigration office. It is advisable to notify the immigration office as soon as you arrive at the new address, ideally within 24 hours. Your landlord must also file the TM30. Note that the TM27, which was previously used for tenant address changes, has been phased out in favor of the TM30.

Yes of course. Your landlord or house owner needs to file a TM30 when you arrive and ask the local immigration office if they want you to file a TM28 change of address form

Has not TM28 been discontinued, is it not now single TM30, for several years?

I didn't say it was essential, only they should ask their immigration office. That would be the sensible thing to do

Not even that. The TM27 was "request for address change" that was the responsibility of a tenant. TM30 removes that tenant responsibility from TM27 to landlord responsibility, TM30. That is how I understood it. Months ago, when I searched for TM27, the results were vague, saying "being phased out" and "concentrate on TM30". Did not say decisively the TM27 has been withdrawn from circullation. TM27 might still live in some search corners on the net.

OP
John Stanners, but do I necessarily have to sign an annual rental agreement, or is a three-month contract also fine?

Frà Cir a contract is not necessary for a TM30

Yes you file a new TM.30 adress registration. Next extension you apply for at your new immigration.

Jan Kenneth Nesland Do you need a new TM30 upon extending your stay if the previous one is still valid (no address change)?

Jim Davis a new TM30 will first be needed when doing the next 90 day report

First TM30 is needed within 24 hours from arrival to Thai. Someone like us, who will need Immmigration services would be questioned even fined if their first TM30 is when they do 90 days report. Then it will show if the address is wrong (will surely be if some hotel where they stayed submitted their own TM30).

95% of travellers do not even know TM30 exists, do not even know Immigration offices other than at the airport exist.

When it comes to us, who need Immigration services, we know.
