Hello, my family and I have DTV visa and currently living in ChiangMai. But, by the time of extension of 180 day we are going to be in Koh Samui (smoky season in ChiangMai), Does somebody know or have experience with the immigration office in Koh Samui? Looks like it is a regular office but we can not afford to go Bangkok in case Koh Samui immigration office does not provide extension for DTV visa. I just want to double check to make some arrangements. Thanks you very much I really appreciate you answers.

Answer summary

The user inquires about extending their DTV visa while in Koh Samui, as they will be away from Chiang Mai during the extension period. They seek confirmation about the capabilities of the Koh Samui immigration office regarding DTV visa extensions, given that traveling to Bangkok is not feasible for them. Community responses suggest that Koh Samui is likely to handle DTV extensions and recommend checking documentation requirements in advance, along with calling the office for confirmation.

Make sure you checkout the Immigration DTV extension documentation requirements first, they appear to be possibly more demanding than the MFA initial visa requirements.

I'm sure Koh Samui will offer extensions for DTV. But even if they don't, then you could just go to the main office at Surat Thani to do it.

these are the Bangkok rules. May vary by immigration office. If any others actually put their requirements in writing.
