Hi all,

I am a UK passport holder.

I will be leaving the country next week after having had a non-b and work permit for the last 4 years.

When I return to Thailand in a month, I am planning on entering with a visa exempt on the Thailand Pass. My question is, is this actually possible? Or do I need a proper visa for the Thailand Pass? I will only be staying for another month before exiting again.

I know that everything might change regarding entry requirements by the time I come back in May, but in case things stay as they are, I want to make sure I can get back in.

Any helpful advice and information is highly appreciated.

Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder with a history of a Non-B visa and work permit in Thailand is planning to re-enter the country under the visa exemption using the Thailand Pass after a month's absence. Concerns are raised about whether a proper visa is needed or if the visa exemption is viable. Community members advise that the individual must cancel their work permit and visa before departure, suggesting the possibility of re-entering under the visa exemption, although applying for a Non-B visa again might not be possible.

You would get back in , I believe, but for applying for a Non B again you won't be able to. As Robert said , "cancel your work permit and visa" and leave the door open.

Make sure you cancel your Work Permit and the Extension of Stay at the local Immigration office before you leave.

To come back is written in the about section on this page:

we cannot guarantee that the advice given will be 100 % successful to obtain the visa, extension of stay or entrance into Thailand.

Do you still need to cancel them even they are about to expire?

Yes as you signed the documents to do this when you applied for the Extension. document is called the STM2 Form.
