I hope to visit Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption. What are the steps I need to take to enter?
I'll get the visa at the airport. Is the ThaiPass straightforward? Do I need covid insurance? I'm full vaccinated (if that matters).

TLDR : Answer Summary
To enter Thailand on a 30-day visa exemption, you do not receive an actual visa at the airport; you will simply receive a stamp. You must complete the Thailand Pass application prior to arrival, which requires booking a SHA+ hotel and uploading necessary documents. Full vaccination is beneficial, and you are required to have health insurance with at least $20,000 coverage. Travelers should check hotel recommendations and ensure their hotel is familiar with the Thailand Pass procedures to avoid delays.

book a sha+ hotel for your thaipass . Try Siam Mandarina, They have required package for thaipass
Ask this group for a hotel recommendation in the area you want to go. Contact that hotel. Ask them for guidance.
I did my ThaiPass in January it was hell. I think part of my troubles were because the hotel wasn't familiar with their responsibilities.
Some people get there Thaipass back in hours, others, it can take weeks. I would recommend going with a hotel recommended by someone who has had a positive experience.
I’m not sure on Phuket but definitely includes Bangkok as I used them for mine all done in one foul swoop

If you're entering visa exempt you won't get the visa at the airport. Visa exempt means you don't get any visa at all and you get stamped in for 30 days.
You can find all information about the Thailand Pass on the website. You'll need $20,000 insurance.
