Can I convince the Jomtien immigration office to process my Non-IM type O extension 37 days before the deadline?

Non-im type O over 50 Aug 2nd deadline coming up. Have done 12 mo. extension three times before so have papers eg., tm30, passport pages, bank letter and statements showing two months seasoning of 800k.

Would like to take flight home 24 June for 5-6 weeks but I might have to wait an extra week before I can go to immigration.

Jomtien office will allow max. 30 days before deadline to process extension. Any chance I can convince them to approve the extension tomorrow, I think about 37 days before the deadline? Curious if anyone has found Jomtien to be flexible on this.

Also I don't remember how much time the "under consideration" takes. If extension approved, will I get my passport back the same day or does it take multiple days or a week?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is seeking advice on whether they can get an extension for their Non-IM type O visa at the Jomtien office, which has a 30-day limit before deadlines. They have previously extended their visa multiple times and have the necessary documents. They plan to travel abroad soon and are unsure if they can convince immigration to approve their extension 37 days prior to the deadline, and whether their passport will be returned the same day if the extension is granted.

Had to submit a copy of the booked flt itinerary like Tod suggested. That did the trick.

All you can do is take your proof that you're flying out before you extension expires to the Jomtien office and see what they say.

I got a yearly extension granted for someone 88 days early because they proved they were leaving before their extension expired and that they wouldn't be coming back until after it had ran out. Initially we got the denial of extension but filed a written appeal and then were called to come in and get the extension granted.

What I mean is you're out nothing by trying it :)

ok thanks. They just ran it through a few managers and approved it but for some reason have to pick up passport tomorrow.

Jomtien always does that apply one day pick up your passport the next day on extensions :)

Make SURE you buy a re-entry permit before you walk out of the office so you can get back in on that extension you just got ;)

There is no under consideration for a yearly extention based on being over 50. You can but only ask if they'll let you extend on 37 days. Dont forget your re-entry permit if you're leaving the country.

Just confirming you've had 400,000 baht in your account for the rest of the year?

yes never went below 800 k since extension last year

Brad Dubbs..Some immigration offices allow 45 days before the due date. Even if yours doesn't, they might make an allowance if you explain the situation. You have nothing to lose by asking

ok thanks. Do you know anything about the under consideration question? I've done this three times but can't remember if they returned my passport back to me the same day with the new extension or whether I have to wait days or a week. Possibly the waiting for consideration process is only for the initial 90-day over 50 type O, and not the yearly extension.

Brad Dubbs. Not on a retirement annual extension. Yes the original 90-day there is, and there is also for the married to a Thai visa. But you'll be ok. It's only the 30 v 45 days that will affect you

@Bobby *******
The origional 90 day Non Imm has NO under consideration period

Steve Greir. Thanks Steve for correcting that. I did mean to say going from the original 90-day. ๐Ÿ‘
