First up thanks for an excellent site.
I am Australian, over 50 entering on Sept 18 on visa exempt.
Have month booking at Jomtien and Tm30 arranged.
1.Get Residency Cert. 2. Open bank acc.
3.Trf 800,0000 baht
4. Obtain 90 day non immigrant O visa
5. Get 1 year extension.
Problems.
1. Jomtien requires seasoning of 800,000 for two months. Can I get initial 90 day visa at another IO?
If so where is closest?
2. Am heading back to Australia Dec 22nd for family Xmas. How early in my 90 day visa can I apply for extension? Would extension be available before 90 day visa expires so I can get in passport before 22 nd Dec. Would buy reentry permits with extension.
Or
Can I organise a reentry permit on the 90 days visa and then return new year and apply for extension?
If so is there any min or max time I can spend out of country?
Trying to work out the timing.๐
3. Can extension be applied for at Jomtien if initial 90 days elsewhere?
Thanks in advance
TLDR : Answer Summary
The requester, an Australian expat, is seeking guidance on the process of obtaining a 90-day Non-O visa in Thailand, including the challenges of banking season requirements for a subsequent extension and re-entry permits. Key concerns include the possibility of applying for the 90-day visa at an immigration office (IO) other than Jomtien, determining how early they can apply for an extension before their visa expires, and whether a re-entry permit can be organized during their absence from the country.
