I have a few questions regarding moving from Bangkok to Surin State to live with my girl friend.
I'm on a retirement visa (for the last 3 years) and the landlord did all the paperwork rewarding address except for the 90 days (TM47) which i send by post and it's never been a problem.
I called the Surin immigration office and i was told not to worry about changing my address at this time. However i am not convinced that it's right as this would put me in a difficult situation when extending my visa in June 2020.
- i have never done anything with immigration on line and a bit confused when i try finding information on their website and would appreciate any help you can give me on the steps required (i assume it's the TM 30 form and not the more specific TM 28 form which is now redundant).
- would it be better to go there Surin immigration office) and do it in person ( 200 km away).
Your kind help would be appreciated and keep up the good work you guys are doing.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, currently holding a retirement visa in Thailand, seeks guidance on updating their address after relocating from Bangkok to Surin State. They are unsure about the necessary procedures, specifically regarding the TM30 form, and wonder if in-person submission at the local immigration office is advisable or if they can manage it online.

It sounds like what you need is simply a TM30 filed. He needs to go to the local immigration office in Surin and file a TM30 with his girl friend, who he will be staying with.
