Hi everyone, im looking at getting a TR either 30 or 60 days. My question is can i change from TR to a NON B without leaving Thailand if i choose to work? (I would have letter from the company)

Also if i was to apply for a stv do i need to show bank statements for the last 6 months? Whats the amount?

Im coming from the UK. Thanks 😊

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about changing a TR visa to a NON-B visa without exiting Thailand and asks about bank statement requirements for applying for an STV. Responses confirm that it is possible to change from TR to NON-B within Thailand and that the STV no longer requires bank statements for the past six months. It's noted that the STV cannot be converted to another visa while in Thailand.

STV doesn not have the 6 month bank requirement anymore.

TR visa will give you 60 days on arrival. Visa exemption will give you 45 days currently. The STV will give you 90 days, extendable twice, but with the STV you cannot change it to any other type of visa within the country. Better to get the normal TR and then work with your new employer and your local immigration office to change to Non-B.

I heard you can extend the 45 day visa exemption by 30 days, then apply to change to a different visa 20 days prior to expiry?

you can apply to change a visa exempt entry OR a tourist visa entry to an in country Non-Immigrant type visa as long as you have the required number of days left on your entry stamp. In Chiang Mai you need 21 days left on your stamp to do it but most require at least 15 days. Has nothing to do with getting that 30 day extension and has everything to do with how many days you have left when you apply
