TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the possibilities of obtaining a multi-year Non-B visa for a representative office in Thailand. It appears that generally, Non-B visas can only be renewed for one year, according to current immigration laws. Some participants mention that the NYC embassy is known for issuing multi Non-B visas, but primarily for company owners. It is suggested to consult with Thai Immigration or an immigration agent for accurate information and guidance.
The 3yr non-b doesn't support work permits for employment in Thailand. It is basically to allow foreign nationals to fly in do some meetings, give some training, sign some deals etc, multiple times in a 3 yr period.
As far as I know, the limitation of Non-B visa renewal is up to only 1 year (365 days) based on Thailand Immigration Law. The purpose of visa is to work, that's why you always need to show the yearly contract to the immigration officer.
You can buy a multiple reentry permit for 3900 baht. Only 1 embassy I know that issues the multi Non-B is the NYC embassy, and only for company owners.
