Has anyone successfully used a sponsor letter instead of showing 500,000 THB in their own bank account for the DTV visa?
I’m planning to apply for the DTV visa, but I don’t currently have 500,000 THB in my personal bank account.
I saw on the embassy website that financial evidence can include a sponsor letter or a guarantee letter of at least 500,000 THB.
Has anyone here actually been approved using a sponsor letter instead of showing the full amount in their own account?
If yes, could you please share:
• Which country you applied from
• Whether the sponsor was a family member or employer
• What documents you submitted (bank statement of sponsor? proof of relationship?)
• Whether the visa was approved without additional requests
I’d really appreciate real experiences before I submit my application.
Thank you

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post seeks advice on whether a sponsor letter can be used in lieu of the required 500,000 THB in a personal bank account for the DTV visa application in Thailand. The user is looking for real experiences from others who have successfully used a sponsor letter, specifying the supporting documents and the results of their applications. Several comments prompt the user to clarify details about their nationality and the consulate where they will be applying, suggesting that these factors may influence the outcome.
I’m going as a sponsor with my husband being the main visa applicant my understanding is if he’s approved I show his approved application with a sponsorship letter saying he is supporting me while in Thailand
If you do not have the money, why you try to apply?
Why you think we can guess your nationality, the embassy where you are going to apply and for what purpose?
If it is based on workcation, some embassies ask for proof of income, just to show you are able to pay your bills while playing around in Thailand.
The 500.000 Thb in the bank is for emergencies, so please tell family members that it is not just a letter, but a guarantee pay out to support your life style.
Nobody can predict the answers to your questions, it all depends on how you prepare and submit your application, people do make mistakes in typing their official name or try to use VPN to avoid being in the country, or use ai to make documents.
How about you tell us what consulate that you're applying at. And while you're at it search the name of that consulate with keyword sponsor, using the group search tool from the main page
