Hey everyone, might be a dumb question but I'm very new to this one so please be kind. So my visa expires on 28th march and I need an extension which according to the internet and some other agents, I can only get for 7 more days due to my passport. So my question is do I go for an extension on the day of expiry or is there a minimum number of days required before expiration to get the extension. Just fyi I am in Bangkok and the office should be in Chaeng Wattana if I'm not wrong. Another question I have is if I have an prospective employer here in Thailand, how much is the minimum wage to get the work permit in Thailand. Fyi I am Nepalese with a nepali passport. If any of you have this information. Please let me know.

TIA☺️☺️

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on extending their visa that expires on March 28, asking if there is a minimum number of days required before the expiration date to apply for the extension. They mention that they can only get a 7-day extension due to their passport. Additionally, they inquire about the minimum wage needed to secure a work permit in Thailand.

Depends on the office you use. It’s not really an extension but a denial of one. In Phuket they’ll add the days on to your existing stamp. Others may date those 7 days from the date of application.

Sorry can’t help with the second part of your question.

Is my information wrong? As I am Nepalese I get 7 days extension instead of 30 days which is normally provided to westerners? And not the denial of extension?

There is no 7 day extension for any nationality. You apply for an extension but because of your passport country it will be denied and you will be given 7 days to leave Thailand.

You get a stamp. In your passport that says “Extension Denied”.

oh alright , thank you. I'll get to the immigration then. And do you have information about when should I go for said denied extension as my visa will expire on 28th and I was thinking I could stay another week

As far as I know Chaengwattana will date the 7 days “denial stamp” from the day you apply. They will almost certainly ask for proof that you will be leaving within those 7 days (a plane or bus ticket).

be aware they do not have to accept your application for an extension in which case you need to leave when your current stamp expires, so bring your flight tickets etc in case you need to show them

do you have any information on how long it will take to change from tourist to a non b visa? Will they provide an exempt if I'm to apply for a non b? And not the leave the country altogether?
Stuart *********
@Diwas *********
Most companies will want you to go to a nearby embassy/consulate to get the Non B. Many can’t or won’t provide the necessary documentation to get a in country Non B. Vast amounts of paperwork.

You’d have to research the nearby consulates to check on their policies for Nepal passports. Some nationalities can take weeks at some.

no idea how long it will take, you need to speak to the company that will employ you about that. And no they won't provide anything to allow you to stay while waiting

thanks a bunch I really appreciate it ❤️

I should also say that if you do get that 7 day stamp you have absolutely no option other than to leave the country before it expires

flight ticket after the extension or on the day of the current visa expiration?

@Diwas *********
you might need to show a reason why you need the extra days, it's not an extension

@Diwas *********
As mentioned it depends on the office you use. Some will add the 7 days on some may date the 7 days from when you apply. If you state the office you are going to use then others may have experience of that office policy.
