Can I extend my 30-day tourist visa in Thailand for an additional 60 days?

Hi, I'm a remote worker from the Philippines. Because of the underwhelming Internet speeds in my country, I came here on a 30-day visa hoping to improve my productivity. It's my 4th day here in Chiang Mai and enjoying it so far. I only have a 30-day visa. Can I extend it to 2 more months so I can stay for a total of 90 days? I think this is where the 1900 baht visa extension in Promenade comes in? Once this has been sorted out, I'll probably think more about staying here for good and only go back to Motherland for vacations. Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A remote worker from the Philippines is currently in Thailand on a 30-day visa and seeks to extend it for an additional 60 days to achieve a total stay of 90 days. Responses confirm that she can apply for a 30-day extension at the immigration office for 1,900 baht, but it is recommended to consider applying for a Non-Immigrant B visa and a work permit for longer stays and legal work.

Okay, no matter what you do for a living you came in here on a 30 day visa exempt entry as a tourist, and now you want to extend it. Go to the immigration office and apply for a 30 day extension for 1900baht.

By the amount of comments on this page regarding online working, if there was ever a poll, it would show at least 90% of people visiting Thailand are living here and working illegaly as Tourists.

Next time there is a post about Non O based on retirement I might have a moan about cheap charlie expats who look down on tourists and pass it off as advice ..lol. I assume that will be fine.

As you can see on this page, there are more topics about work, TM30 etc, which we allow. We even allow a discussion, but if it becomes naming people I delete. To avoid confusion I deleted your discussion with Ron in total. Keep it friendly.

Robert Lagas Surely if that were the case then the whole thread would be deleted as the first comment is not even visa advice. It was just a moan ;)

Even when it became 99.9 %, we give advice on this page. All we can and will do is pointing them in the correct and legal way to stay inside Thailand. What ever they do with the advice is their own decision.

On the official note: You need to get the Non Immigrant B visa and a Work Permit to work inside Thailand. Not official: You are inside Thailand on the 30 Visa Exempt Entry (not a Visa), You can apply at Immigration Office once for a 30 day Extension of Stay and the cost of this is 1.900 Thb. If you want to stay for good, you better start thinking of the correct Visa for you.

David Broadfoot, an extension of stay stamp and the extension denied stamp are close to the same size. About

David Broadfoot I know, but we are talking about an Extension of Stay. Not about a big stamp in the passport Extension is not approved and you get 7 days to leave the country.

Noted. Thanks for the tip

As I said, only once. Than you leave the country and apply for a Visa or come back again without a Visa and get another 30 days.

Thanks for the clarification. Can I apply for the 30-day extension twice so I get to stay for 90 days? Or is it only a one time thing?
