Hi I entered Thailand on a family visa non immigrant 0

my 90 days are up January 2nd I plan to leave Thailand December the 30th and will apply for another immigrant 0 family visa at the Thai embassy in Laos Vientiane

My question is will I have any problems getting a 2nd visa straight after my 1st visa has expired,I'm just thinking maybe there is a unwritten rule saying you have to wait a few months before applying again for the same visa

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquires about the possibility of applying for a second Non-Immigrant O family visa immediately after their first visa expires. The community responses suggest that while it's possible to apply for a back-to-back visa, there's a risk of denial. They recommend considering a 60-day family visit extension and mention the option of leaving Thailand and reentering on a Visa Exempt Entry. The importance of checking the Thai embassy's holiday schedule in Laos is also emphasized.

And one More possible option...

Your current Non O Visa expires January 2.

Suggest you leave Thailand on December 30 and reenter SAME DAY as Visa Exempt Entry. That will give you New Visa Exempt Entry 30 days plus one 30 day extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office for 1900 Thai baht. As that Visa Exempt Entry is in 2023...

You will be STILL Allowed 2 LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries into Thailand EACH CALENDAR YEAR...which means you can get 2 LAND BORDER BOUNCE entries in 2024. Plus one 30 day extension of stay EACH time.

Enough said... I wish you success in your quest to stay longer in Thailand.

With the YEAR End Holidays ... plan any departure from Thailand to visit a Thai Embassy or Consulate in Laos carefully... check for the days the Thai Embassy or Consulate will be CLOSED.

If you are married to a Thai why not take advantage of the 60 days visiting family extension and if you want to stay beyond that get a 12 month extension of stay

Have you tried to get the 60 day family visit extension of stay at your local Thai Immigration office? It's usually available one time for each entry into Thailand. ASK your Thai immigration office.

I debated with myself whether to reply to you by PM or allow it to post.

Reality is you can try to get a back to back Non O Visa..but be prepared to be DENIED.

You have the option for you to get the One year extension of stay...by meeting the requirements for it.

In the Future, suggest you get the METV multiple entry tourist visa in your home country before you fly to Thailand. With planning it can get you up to 9 months stay in Thailand with a few simple land BORDER BOUNCE out and entry into Thailand or by flying.

Just how long are you planning on staying in Thailand? When are you really going to depart Thailand to your home country?

I tried for a 60 day extension at bangkok but they would not give me it as they wanted a copy of my landlord ID card he won't give it to me,I plan on staying in Thailand for 80 days when I return

AND suggest you find a New place to live in Thailand... that will provide you with a valid TM 30 address registration filing with Thai Immigration.

@Paul ******
leave Thailand December 30 Return same day... that Gets you Visa Exempt Entry 30 days plus one 30 day extension.

And in 2024... repeat the Land BORDER BOUNCE 2 times...plus 30 day extension Each time.

That gives you more than you need to stay in Thailand.
