We wanted to apply for a 1 year marriage visa but unforunately we ran out of the time and money. So i decided to go back to work. My question is if i go to Laos can i apply for a 60 days single entry tourist visa? I want to spend a little bit more time with my wife b4 i go back to work. I am Hungarian and im holding an EU passport.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is currently in Thailand on a Non-Immigrant O visa and inquires about applying for a 60-day single entry tourist visa after traveling to Laos. Commenters suggest different options: one recommends applying for a 1-year Non-O visa based on marriage in Savannakhet, Laos, while another suggests applying for a 60-day 'visit family' extension in Thailand if married to a Thai partner, which requires no proof of finances.

You could go to Savannaket in Laos, get a 1 year non o visa based on marriage, no funds required but you do have to pay 5,000 baht. Apply Monday to Friday before 12.00 and pick up next day (Tuesday - Friday) after 2.00pm. Leave the country every 90 days

Are you married to your thai partner or not?

IF you are you could apply for a 60 day 'visit family' extension of stay at the immigration office for 1900baht. That extension doesn't require any proof of finances.

, you go to the immigration office that services the area where you and your wife are living, take the marriage certificates, her thai i/d, her house book listing, and you can apply for a 60 day visit family extension of stay for 1900baht

OR go to the thai consulate in Savannakhet Lao (across the river from Mukdahan) and get either a year-long, multi-entry Non-O visa or a 90 day single entry Non-O based on marriage to a thai. Neither of those visas require proof of finances either.

That would get you stamped in for 90 days

, "there is no such thing as a marriage visa" :/ you already hold a 90 day Non-O visa based on marriage to a thai. Your next step would have been apply for a yearly extension of stay by meeting the financial requirements.

Why not take the 60 day extension of stay I recommended from the immigration office for 1900baht rather than slog all the way to Lao to get a single entry tourist visa?

Still if that's what you want to do you could go to Lao when ever you want, as long as you stamp out of the country on or before the 7th of April you're fine.

Yes we are as i mentioned we wanted to apply for the marriage visa. One more question. My current visa will expire on the 7th April what is Saturday. If we go to Laos on the 5th is that okay?
