Hello everyone. My Non-B visa expired on March 23. I was on COVID-19 extension and now covered by the visa amnesty. The question is if I can start doing the new Non-B with the new school right now or should wait until the borders are open. Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about applying for a new Non-B visa with a new school after their previous Non-B visa expired, while currently under a COVID-19 extension and visa amnesty. Responses suggest that getting a Non-B visa while in Thailand is challenging and typically requires leaving the country. Further, it's unclear if transitioning directly from the amnesty to a new visa is possible.

What do you mean by “new Non-B process”? Very seldom can you get a non-B inside Thailand. We also believe you can’t go from the amnesty to an extension of stay, and you have to leave Thailand to get a new visa that allows you to have the appropriate extension of stay.

I am assuming you are a teacher. Have you asked your school yet what they recommend?

No, I am going to work legally.

Yes, I've asked. They recommend to wait until the borders are open. I just thought that due to this emergency situation the visa policy is not that strict, or probably changed, and it's possible to do that without leaving the country.
