Can I apply for a long-term Thai visa while only intending to stay for a week next month?
I'm planning to come next month for a week, then go back to Europe, and come back for a few months around September.
Do you guys know if it OK to do the visa now already? I can imagine that they would say sth like „no, for one week you don’t need a DTV, try again before you come fit a Long time“. Planning to apply now in HCMC.
Because around May I have to pay a lot of tax, and afterwards won't have the 500,000 THB in the bank account anymore.

First of all applying in HCMC. You will need to wait visa and remain in Vietnam for about a month. April has many thai public holidays which thai consulate in Vietnam will be closed for several days 🤣🤣🤣

OPThanks for the answer, but I meant if they will grant it although in my first stay next month I’m only planning to stay for one week. The next long stay (3-4 months) will be end of the year. I can imagine that they would say sth like „no, for one week you don’t need a DTV“

You can apply now it can take around 10 business days in Vietnam, some have got it quicker. If you plan to extend your DTV at immigration you need to show 500k.
