Hi. I hope this isn't a stupid question. If you are British and want to apply for freelancer visa while back in the UK - I'm currently in Thailand - do you have to be in London to do the electronic application or can you be anywhere in England? Also, let's say I stay with a friend, how would one prove they are there as obviously there would not be a hotel booking? Also, I guess sending 6 months bank statements doesn't mean you have to scan a load of pages? 6 months is quite a thick pile of paper.
And if any freelancers have experience doing this in the UK, please tell me how it went for you. I freelance so my clients are everywhere, but mostly in the US. My portfolio is pretty clear to see, and I have all my electronic invoices and payments. Thank you!
TLDR : Answer Summary
You can apply for the Thai freelancer visa from anywhere in the UK, not just London. If you're staying with a friend, provide their address and a letter or ID confirming your stay. For financial proof, a final balance of 500K THB is acceptable without needing six months of bank statements. Remember to show proof of a UK to Thailand ticket that aligns with your visa start date.
