TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the possibility of applying for a DTV visa while already in Thailand. The prevalent opinion among respondents is that it is not allowed, as applications should be made from outside the country at a Thai consulate. However, some users claim to have successfully done it by exiting and re-entering Thailand. There are concerns about the legality of this approach, potential financial risks involved in case of application rejection, and increased scrutiny on visa applications.

I would not do it. Its against the regulations. And i assume they start to check for this more thoroughly now. They could see your entry and exit dates at all times in their computer system. And when you are not in the country where you are applying at then its not correct and your application might get denied and you loose the money you already paid.

No, there are no Thai Embassies or Thai consulates inside Thailand.

Best to apply from the country, where you have permanent adress.

Remember you are loosing 10.000+ Baht, when being rejected.

Next time search the group, before posting a question.

A VPN will not change the arrival and departure stamps in the Passport.

Why are so many people replying "No"? Haha! Guys, technically it's possible. Many people have already done, exited Thailand, and came back in with the DTV without issue. Should you do it? Probably not. Do I condone it? No, but fact of the matter is it is possible!

if you truly don't condone it, you won't mention it is possible, and tell that many have.

At the beginning of the e-visa there is a pop up that states that you acknowledge that you can't be in Thailand when you apply. There is also this little note under current location "Your current location is a country or territory in which you remain at the time that you lodge an application" that everyone seems to ignore.
