TLDR : Answer Summary
To apply for the Covid Extension of your Non O visa, you must visit the Thai Immigration office where you are registered to live, as per the TM30 requirement. You cannot choose a different immigration office.

New ruling made by the government/immigration is the reason the visa cant be extended or a new one made.

that's not actually correct and someone is blowing smoke up your backside ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

What really happened was the usual section head swap (where they move the heads of the immigration offices around) AND what that did was make the people who offer back door, under the table, b/s ED & "pretend to volunteer" visa/extensions suddenly NOT be able to get them any more. They thought that this would be settled by the end of Oct after all the section heads got into their new positions etc, BUT it's still up in the air. SO if you're using an agent/agency to push paper and get your visa extension you're gonna be waiting a bit more for it

I do have the correct visa, but due to covid I moved back to Bangkok. I was living in Pattaya where the visa was issued. My TM30 is a Bangkok address . Thanks for the information.

as you have been living in Thailand for several years now be prepared if asked by Thai immigration why you do not have the correct visa for living in Thailand?

As you state you are now on a Non O visa that is ending soon....

If it is a Non O Volunteer Visa you must first get a letter from the NGO who sponsored you for the Non O visa and take it to the Thai Immigration office where the stamp was issued to request that they cancel your volunteer visa.

The Thai Immigration office where you are really living now will not accept your COVID extension application ...they will tell you to first go to the immigration office which issued the Non O visa stamp now in your passport to cancel the Non O visa.

You must use the Thai Immigration office where you are registered to live with a TM30 on file.

You cannot "shop" for an immigration office.

Why can't you extend your current Non O visa/extension?

What was the basis for it being issued?
