Hey! I’m from the UK (and living there atm) and am wondering…can I apply for a 60 day tourist visa while already abroad…i.e. if I visit somewhere first for a few weeks before coming to Thailand.
Or does my flight have to be coming in from the UK direct to Thailand to get approval? 🙏
Thank you.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, you can apply for a 60-day tourist visa for Thailand from another country. However, the Thai consulate you apply to will generally require proof of your travel arrangements, such as a flight from that country to Thailand. It's advisable to apply at a Thai embassy or consulate in the country you are currently visiting. If using the e-visa system, ensure that the country you are in supports online applications. Additional documentation may be required, so prepare accordingly.
Using a embassy or consulate that uses the evisa system, requires that you are actually in that country to do so. Because it’s electronic and technically you could actually be anywhere when applying a number of people ask “how would they know?”
Two things in general. One they’ll probably want to see a ticket from that country to Thailand (and may ask for a return or onward ticket).
Also they want you to upload all passport pages used in the last 12 months. If you have a current stamp in the country you are currently in they may well deduce that you are not where you say you are and reject the application.
Generally you use the embassy/consulate in the country you are physically in. Most SE Asia consulates haven’t switched over the the evisa system so it’s still a physical go there and apply thing. Please check the website of the place you intend to use as many require an appointment (some for application AND passport collection).
The consulate you apply through will usually want to see a flight from that country to Thailand. Evisa didn't change the rules about applying from consulate of the country you are physically in.
