TLDR : Answer Summary
Applying for a Thai tourist visa online while outside your home country generally requires you to go through the consulate or embassy in the country you are currently in. In some cases, if your country participates in the evisa system, you may be able to apply online, but typically, personal application at the embassy is necessary. It's advised to check whether your passport allows for visa exemption upon arrival, as this may change the requirements. Some users noted experiences where online applications were not straightforward, and local embassies may provide better guidance and service.

You can now do it in Canada but it takes at least a month to process. I applied two days ago and it was a foot note.

Check first if your passport/country is included in the free visa upon arrival... if included then all you need is vax certificate. Buy ticket and come to Thailand.

If not included in visa upon artival then go to a Thai embassy whetever you are and apply for a tourist visa..Apply personally. Not online

If the country you are in uses the evisa system, you can apply through the consulate there online.

But evisa did not change the rules of applying for a Thai visa. You must apply through the consulate of the country you are physically in.

once you have the visa it doesn't matter what you do. Enter from anywhere, any time before it expires.

yes i know. I did few times. But what if I'm using land border? Because no restrictions and even i can cancel my flight after i get the e-visa because the visa itself doesn't say anything where you coming from... Only showing which embassy issued. But I'll find out next year because i want to use TR visa when I'm back to Thailand from Laos

try putting in a land border crossing into Thailand and see if that’s accepted

they want to see the pages of your passport and your ticket from the country you're applying from to Thailand.

You can use your e-visa on a 90days from it's done. What if i apply in my country and traveling somewhere else and going to Thailand after? And I don't know which country will be the last before I'm going to Thailand... I can't saw anywhere stated you have to travel from the country where it was issued... But maybe I'm wrong...
Ben *****
I could be wrong, but when I applied for an e-visa I remember having to send in my flight itinerary as well (at least for the Los Angeles consulate office). I believe the flights should match whichever country's consulate you're applying from.

how would they know? I was wondering that. I applied for mine in Canada before I left. But everything was done electronically. All by email. Technically you could do it anywhere, then fly out to any country and come back in using your e-visa. No? You could have gone to your own country and then somewhere else before coming back. A little sketchy maybe lol
