Hey all, I have a Chinese friend who wants to come to Thailand this weekend.
Apparently the Chinese are only given 15 days on arrival.
Does anyone know if they are able to extend this period at immigration?
Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
Chinese nationals receive a 15-day visa on arrival in Thailand, which they cannot extend. However, they can obtain a special 'extension denied' stamp for an additional week at certain immigration offices for a fee, but not all offices will provide this service.
Chinese (along with 18 other nationalities get a 15 day visa on arrival (which is currently free until April 30th 2020).
On that 15 day VOA they can get a 7 day 'extension denied' stamp that lets them have a week to get out of thailand at the immigration office for 1900baht. SOME offices won't issue it, and some offices want proof the person is really leaving in a week before they issue that stamp.
If they want to stay longer they need to BUY a tourist visa from the thai consulate in China before they come here.
