Hi, does anyone know if it's possible for a Cambodian national entering Thailand via air on a 15-day visa exempt stamp to have their stay extended at a local immigration office and, if so, for how long?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Cambodian national entering Thailand on a 15-day visa exempt stamp generally cannot extend their stay according to immigration hotline information. The current consensus is that while there is no official limit for extensions set by law, local immigration officers have discretion in these matters. However, since Cambodians only receive a 14-day entry irrespective of their arrival method, exiting and re-entering Thailand is a suggested alternative to obtain a new visa exempt entry.

I asked that question this morning - the answer was there is no limit set in law, it's at the discretion of the immigration officer dealing with the person on arrival.

and there we have it. :O However seeing as Cambodia is NOT on the list of countries that have any limits set on their entries I imagine that they could simply exit/re-enter the country and get another 14 day visa exempt entry.

I just called 1111, which is apparently the immigration department hotline, and was told that the 14-day period for Cambodians cannot be extended within Thailand.

unknown but Cambodians only get 14 days no matter how they enter the country
