When I was in Vientiane in May there was a Chinese national applying for a new B visa. The embassy denied her application and told her she had to go to China to get one. She was given a visa-exempt entry at the border and was next going to prepare to fly to China.

, They are an admin on this group, they also run a visa run service to Vientiane from Bangkok and go there twice a week.

They usually know what can and can't be done up there because they're there so much.

They did for a while accept applications for chinese BUT I think they stopped letting chinese get ANY thai visa from Vientiane or Savannakhet now.

China is on the list of countries that can't get visas in Lao for thailand
