Hello, we are a family of 5 coming from Canada. Our kids will be going to international school, so they will be on ED visa. Just confirming if both parents will be able to apply for Guardian visa? The school advised we can both apply for Guardian, however I'm seeing people saying that only one parent can apply for Guardian.
If we apply for one Guardian and one ED (learn Thai language) for the parents, what would the financial requirement be? Wondering if anyone has done this recently and has experience. Thanks for your help!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A family moving to Thailand with children enrolling in an international school is seeking clarification on whether both parents can apply for Guardian visas, given that the children will be on ED visas. Advisors suggest that typically, each child can sponsor one parent for a Guardian visa, allowing both parents to apply if they have multiple children enrolled. There's also the option of one parent acquiring an ED visa for Thai language study. In terms of financial requirements, it's noted that proof of financial stability is essential for residing in Thailand without employment.

what will be your way of earning income? because on ED you wont be allowed to work.
also the normal ED (private language school) would be a 3 months visa and can be extended 3 times. so a max. of 1 year and then you need to leave the country.
maybe children need more consistency than joining a school for only a year.
Assuming you have 3 kids they can each sponsor one adult on a Guardian non O immigrant visa. So you wouldn't require a DTV. You won't be able to work but you can reside in Thailand so the financial proof is important to show you can support the family during your stay. Check the Canadian e-visa website for all requirements including the financial proof. The list is short and concise.
Step 1 is applying for your kids ED visa which you do online and with supporting documentation from their school.
Once kids obtain ED visa you can then apply for Guardian visas.
One guardian visa per child. Not sure why you're asking in this DTV group if you're talking about guardian visas and ED visas.
Weighing the pros and cons of each it's probably easier to get a guardian visa with less recurring paperwork whereas an ED visa needs an extension every 3 months.
