Hi All,

I am working on an application for a 60-day tourist visa in Thailand through the Thai e-visa site. I am a US citizen but not currently in the US. Can I still apply from outside my country of residency? And secondly, regarding proof of accomodation, do they require proof for all 60-nights?

Thank you in advance. Any help is appreciated.

Answer summary

A US citizen can apply for a 60-day tourist visa through the Thai e-visa site from outside the US; however, there may be specific requirements depending on the consulate, such as providing a flight confirmation back to the US. Regarding accommodation proof, only proof for the first few days is required, not for the entire 60-day stay.

For the second part of the question. No. Just the first few days will suffice.

As to the first part I don’t know. In theory how would they know, but some consulates may require a flight confirmation from the US to issue a visa.
