I was going to be going to Hanoi this Sunday to apply for the DTV there, but as Chinese new year is coming up and my planning is terrible I've probably left it to late.
And so I was thinking Manila as a 2nd choice but after some research I'm not sure I can apply in Manila.
I have attached a picture and 5c says I need a phillipines visa to apply, but I dont need a phillipines visa to enter the phillipines so I won't have one.
Has anyone applied from the phillipines?
I'm a uk passport holder.
If the picture isn't attached as I'm rubbish with Facebook I'll add it as a comment
Thanks
Steve

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK passport holder is considering applying for a DTV visa in the Philippines but is uncertain about the requirements, particularly regarding the necessity of a Philippine visa for the application process. Community responses suggest that it is possible to apply in Manila while on a tourist visa, and some users also recommend enjoying an alternative stay in Vietnam or exploring other locations like Laos or Jakarta for the application.
but I wouldn't have a tourist visa, as its not needed for me to enter and will be to late to get one anyway I guess. But seems not needed for the dtv. Hopefully
The agent said they are usually 5 days but cover themselves on website. I was of same opinion as yiu. Woukd rather do longer time in Vietnam rather than Lais
Why not enjoy a month in Vietnam while you get DTV? Why rush a visa that lasts 5 years? I did my application in HCMC and visited 30 different pho restauarant in the month that I spent there. I actually found Vietnam to be cheaper than Thailand. £10 a night accommodation and main meal of the day under £3. YOLO, take time to savour it.
Been to Vietnam 3 times, it's OK but don't want to be there any longer than I need to be. I have children in Thailand and spend over half the year working on ships. So time with them is what I'm going for.
