Halo group.

I would like your advice please.

I’m a UK citizen, currently travelling on visa exempt stamps.

I entered Thailand on October 18th and stayed for three days, for which I was stamped in and out of the country.

I entered Thailand again on November 19th, with a new stamp that is valid until January 17th, but I would like to stay an extra two weeks beyond that date, if possible.

So, my questions are …

Is it possible for me to get a 30-day extension on this current stay?

If so, when would be the best time to apply for this at an immigration office?

The answer will inform my travel planning, buying flights home, etc.

Thanks in advance for your guidance in this matter 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen currently on a visa exempt stay in Thailand, valid until January 17th, inquired about the possibility of obtaining a 30-day extension. Responses confirmed that a 30-day extension is feasible from local immigration offices. It is suggested to apply when you have 30 days or less remaining on your visa; however, some offices may have restrictions, allowing applications only during the final week of the visa's validity.

Yes you can get 30 day extension and I'd apply at least 10 working days before expiry

Yes, you can get a 30 day extension from your local immigration office. Most offices in Thailand will let you apply when you have 30 days or less left on your existing stamp.

A few will only let you go during your last week: Jomtien/Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan
