Halo group.

I would like your advice please.

I’m a UK citizen, currently travelling on visa exempt stamps.

I entered Thailand on October 18th and stayed for three days, for which I was stamped in and out of the country.

I entered Thailand again on November 19th, with a new stamp that is valid until January 17th, but I would like to stay an extra two weeks beyond that date, if possible.

So, my questions are …

Is it possible for me to get a 30-day extension on this current stay?

If so, when would be the best time to apply for this at an immigration office?

The answer will inform my travel planning, buying flights home, etc.

Thanks in advance for your guidance in this matter 🙏🏻

TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen currently traveling on a visa exempt stamp in Thailand, valid until January 17th, is inquiring about the possibility of obtaining a 30-day extension of their stay. According to a community member, it is possible to apply for a 30-day extension at a local immigration office, ideally when there are 30 days or less remaining on the current stamp. However, certain immigration offices have specific rules, allowing applications only within the last week of the stay.

Yes, you can get a 30 day extension from your local immigration office. Most offices in Thailand will let you apply when you have 30 days or less left on your existing stamp.

A few will only let you go during your last week: Jomtien/Pattaya, Koh Samui, Koh Phangan
