I’m a UK citizen but I’m currently in the US. I’m looking at Thailand as an option to visit as a tourist at the end of this month. I’m aware of the need to obtain to COE and go through ASQ. However, does anyone know if it’s possible for me to start and complete the application process while I’m not in my country of residency? The website for applications assumes I’m a US citizen.
Any advice or experiences would be much appreciated.
TLDR : Answer Summary
A UK citizen currently in the US can apply for a Certificate of Entry (COE) to travel to Thailand as a tourist. It's possible to enter Thailand without a visa through a visa exemption valid for 45 days, which may be extended by another 30 days. The process doesn't necessarily require one to be in their country of residency, but specific embassy rules may apply regarding visa applications, particularly for longer stays. It is advisable to gather the necessary documents and directly apply for COE, as some embassies may not accept applications from non-residents.
