Quick question - friend of mine entered Thailand through Chiang Mai International Airport with VOA for 15 days. She wants a 7 day extension but is in Bangkok now. Can she do this at the Immigration office in Bangkok or is it required to be done at immigration office at point of entry, i.e. Chiang Mai? Thanks in advance!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user is inquiring whether their friend, who entered Thailand via Chiang Mai International Airport with a Visa on Arrival (VOA) valid for 15 days, can request a 7-day extension at an immigration office in Bangkok. The comments clarify that extensions can be processed anywhere at immigration offices across Thailand. However, there seems to be a misconception regarding the type of extension, as one comment indicates that a 7-day extension is not possible for the VOA, implying she should prepare to leave after her initial stay.

She can not have a 7 day Extension of Stay, all she can apply for is an Extension of Stay, got this not approved and get 7 days to pack the bags and leave Thailand.

It's an "extension denied" with order to leave within 7 days.

It is not an Extension of Stay. It is application is NOT approved, slight difference in wording.

@Robert ******
my understanding is that the extension of stay for visa on arrival tourist is for 7 days only and not beyond that.
