Good morning, I have two questions (italian passports)

1. Our daughter is coming to visit for the summer, she has a 60 days tourist visa single entry, she might want to visit neighboring countries can she get a re-entry permit within the validity of the initial stay? If yes can she then still extend the duration of her stay by 30 additional days?

2. Our second daughter will be leaving Thailand to complete her studies back home. She has an extension of stay based on school valid until jan 2025, do we need to cancel it before she leaves or just leave and let it expire (she is 16 years old).

Thanks for your help.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The first question is regarding a daughter's ability to obtain a re-entry permit while holding a 60-day tourist visa and whether she can extend her stay by an additional 30 days. Yes, she can obtain a re-entry permit and extend her stay. As an Italian passport holder, she may also enter Thailand under the visa-exempt scheme for 30 days. The second question pertains to another daughter who has a long-term extension based on school and is leaving the country. It's recommended to cancel the extension before departure unless she intends to return only for short visits.

Q1. can she get a re-entry permit within the validity of the initial stay? If yes can she then still extend the duration of her stay by 30 additional days?

-> Yes and yes. Or, as she is an Italian passport holder, she also can enter Thailand on the visa-exempt scheme with an onward travel ticket for 30 days (as standard) for free.

Q2. do we need to cancel it before she leaves or just leave and let it expire (she is 16 years old).

-> As a rule, a Non-Immigrant based extension has to be cancelled.

IF she is sure would never come back to Thailand on any long-term basis (only as a short time tourist), she can let it expire and wouldn't have an issue.
