Can a South African do a border run from Langkawi and get a stamp on arrival on Lipe?
Answer summary
Yes, South Africans can do a border run from Langkawi to Koh Lipe and receive a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry stamp upon arrival. However, it's important to note that they can only use this entry method by land borders twice in a calendar year, so the number of previous border runs during the year may affect eligibility. Comments suggest taking the last ferry from Satun for a smoother return.

South Africans are legit to get the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry, but they are also limited to two times using this type of entry by land borders a calendar year. It depends on how many border runs you did this year.

They stamp everybody in depending on their country of origin and if they have a visa or not inside their passport. Not only people legit for Visa on Arrival.

never done a border run before. Currently on an ED visa that I want to cancel and come back on a tourist stamp. I read on some forum that Lipe only stamps the 21 countries in that are legit for the *****
day VOA, but not the 30 day exempt. I didn't know they were two different things to have to consider.Activity
