METV IN VIETNAM FOR A FRENCH

I have a question regarding the METV 

I’m a French citizen currently staying in Thailand. I’m travelling to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, on November 4th and would like to apply for an METV in HCMC while I’m there.

Has anyone successfully applied for an METV from Vietnam as a tourist, without having Vietnamese residency or a residence permit?

If so:

Was your application accepted?

How long did the process take?

I’m flexible with my return date and can extend my stay in Vietnam if necessary.

Any recent experiences or advice would be greatly appreciated!
