Can a family apply for O-A visas together as dependents?

Hi everyone, looking for advice on the Non-Immigrant “O-A” visa if anyone has experience. . . We are a family of four looking to move from Ireland once restrictions are lifted. My husband meets the age and financial requirements for this visa. We wish to apply for the “O-A” as it allows us to use assets here to verify satisfaction of the financial criteria and also gives a 12 month visa (which I understand is required in order to import your household effects without being subject to import duty). My question is how myself and our two young kids can “piggyback” on this visa, as ‘dependents’- is this possible? Or, should we be exploring additional options?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post inquires about the process for a family of four from Ireland to apply for the Non-Immigrant O-A visa, focusing on how the wife and two children can join as dependents. Community responses suggest that once the primary visa holder has the O-A visa, the dependents can obtain O visas. Some advice also clarifies financial requirements, emphasizing that the necessary financial proof can be maintained in their home country, and mentions the importance of potential insurance requirements for long-stay visas.

You write that you have financial assets in your home country to validate the financial criteria. From my understanding of the rules, you have to show a guaranteed monthly income, not just owning land, for example, in your home country. Or of course you could put what is it, about $25,000 in the Thaii ? bank

. Applying for an OA visa is done from your own country, so you must show the equivalent of 800,000 baht in a bank account in your own country, or the equivalent of 65,000 baht/month in your own country. You don't need to have a single baht in Thailand

Yes, once one person has the O-A the rest can get the O dependents visa as a formality.

If borders reopen in twelve months, you can actually get two years out of an OA visa, by stamping back in close to the expiry of the visa. Don't be put off by the insurance requirement, it's not as expensive as many are making out, and there is a possibility that all long stay visas post-covid will require insurance.

thx Bobby. I had heard that you can get a further 1 year stamp on your O-A on like the day before expiry - makes it a good option for us. The health insurance I can live with - we need to have it here too (in reality). Do you happen to know if all four of us can get in on the O-A? Only my husband meets the age requirement. . .

Thx again
