Hi everyone. I'm in Chiang Rai and hoping to do a border run to Mae Sai in a few days. I just met a couple of Brazilian girls who tried to do it after their initial 3 month visa-free stamp and they were turned away at the border (they had to fly to Cambodia and come back in again). Has anyone had this experience? I'm an Australian citizen with 2 month visa + 1 month extension and would like to stay for another month. Not sure if it's related to nationality, whether they were just unlucky, or if it's something larger. Thanks in advance.

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian citizen is seeking advice about doing a border run from Chiang Rai to Mae Sai after a two-month visa and one-month extension. They are concerned about being turned away at the border, citing a recent negative experience from Brazilian travelers. A comment explains that Australian citizens are eligible for a 30-day Visa Exempt Entry twice by land, whereas Brazilians face different conditions.

It is Nationality related. Australian are legible for the 30 day Visa Exempt Entry twice by land or unlimmited by air, and Brazil for 90 days only by coming in by air.
