I know there is restrictions on UK citizens from entering Thailand due to the covid variant.
My question is: was there also restrictions put on South Africans from entering for the same reason?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion addresses whether South Africans face entry restrictions to Thailand due to COVID-19 variants, similar to UK citizens. It is clarified that there are no specific restrictions based on nationality; requirements for entry include a 14-day quarantine, proof of financial insurance covering COVID-19, and a negative COVID-19 test prior to travel. All travelers are subject to the same protocols irrespective of their country of origin.

Biden to ban most non-US citizens coming directly from the UK, Ireland, the EU and Brazil from entering the US. Recent visitors to South Africa as well.
there are no specific restrictions for people from the uk. It’s the same requirements for everyone from any country in the world. Some can come visa exempt (same countries that could prior to covid) all others require to apply for a visa.

There sadly no restriction for both...they should b banned till end of the year ...let’s save thailand

According to your logic, UK lockdowns unduly punish healthy Brits.

Simply look at *Breaksit* to witness again how the UK has been world renowned for tirelessly defending its global privileges as well as insular exceptionalism.
The UK is clever to try to keep all its wealth within its territories, just as Thailand will be smart to try to prevent further Corona *break-ins* coming from highly infectious countries.

<<Prime Minister Boris Johnson said this week there is "some evidence" the variant that emerged in the UK may be more deadly - but scientists have since said this should not be a "game changer" in the UK's response to the pandemic.>>
This new stronger mutation of Covid is in several countries, the toxicologists from the UK were the first to identify it, so it was unfortunately and wrongly labelled the UK variant..
Why should UK citizens be banned from entering Thailand until the end of the year? Give me one good reason. They go through the same procedure to enter as everyone else. Are you still pissed about the war and the football?
education or reading can help.... Just a small tip only last month about 25.000 dead from convid.. The new UK virus is 8 times more infectiously.... Thailand has say 73 people died in the whole last 12 Month.... Did you get it
I'm in Bangkok, did my quarantine. And someone as thick as you would be the last person i would go to for advice. Maybe you should go back to school as you clearly need an education.
Phil Jones would have to agree. This super scary virus hoax has been amazingly put together.

Phil Jones well if you see how naive and criminal the Torrie Government with their pure people worked...? You are questioning

The same restrictions apply to everyone. You must do 14 days of quarantine, and have insurance that covers at least US$100,000 for covid-19, and a negative covid-19 test no longer than 72hours before you fly. This is the same for everyone.

What restrictions on entry exactly?

Yes because of all those South Africans rushing to get here...probably makes sense to only be worried about what are your rules
