Can South Africans enter Thailand for the Phuket Sandbox program given current travel restrictions?

Hi! 

So I have searched, phoned and emailed but no response or certainty. Hoping this group can please help or offer advice. 

I'm South African, on the Thai embassy website it says South Africans are banned (with the announcement  of the Omricon variant early Dec and not updated). But on the Thai Embassy website it says all nationalities are eligible for the Phuket Sandbox program. 

Would have liked to apply for 60days visa and extend for another 30days. Or alternatively just come in on 30days and extend for another 30days. 

Any advice or assistance will be appreciated.

Just to clarify, the ban is about the place of origin for travel, not your nationality. South Africans traveling from Europe for instance are fine.

The travel ban for the 8 countries is still in place - plus all other african countries 14 days hotel room quarantine on arrival.

You are correct and the South African Thai Embassy says 8 African nations are not eligible to enter Thailand. Including South Africa.
