Am I overstayed???

I quit job last month and requested my employer to cancel my extension after 30 days so I can travel and relax a before leaving the kingdom, to which they agreed. Just now I came to know that they have already cancelled my work permit last week without informing me , the work permit and passport is in my custody though. Am I overstayed???

What are my options now? Should I go to immigration and get an overstay stamp OR leave the country without doing anything (At least I won't get a red stamp on my passport with this option)

Need Help please.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The individual is concerned about overstaying in Thailand after their employer canceled their work permit without notifying them. They are seeking advice on whether to approach immigration for an overstay stamp or leave the country to avoid one. Responses suggest two primary options: exiting Thailand without addressing the cancellation to avoid a stamp while risking issues with future visa applications, or going to immigration with proof of the canceled work permit, accepting the overstay fine, and obtaining a stamp in their passport.

I outlined what you can do

LEAVE NOW, stamping out on your current extension like nothing is the matter, go to a thai consulate get a single entry tourist visa come back in get stamped in for 60 days

THEN if you do find another job and when you go to get a new Non-B you deal with the fact you did things "out of sequence" and you pay the 20K baht max fine to clear it up at the immigration office before you can get either a Non-B visa or an extension from inside the country

OR

You take the termination paperwork and the proof your work permit was cancelled to the immigration office, cancel the extension, pay the overstay, get the stamp in your passport and then leave.

you don't have any other options. Those are the only two

IF you take the receipt of the work permit being cancelled to the immigration office with your termination paperwork your extension will be cancelled the day the work permit was. SO you would be on overstay since then. You would get 500 baht a day fine and you would get an overstay stamp in your passport.

IF you exit the country stamping out and then returning on a tourist visa you will have problems when you go to get a new Non-B but you will have avoided an overstay stamp.

Out of curiosity... What if he decides to just leave and get a new passport and comes back. Are they still able to see his mot canceled visa?

I am just thinking of worst case on my next arrival if I don't cancel the extension. I literally don't want the overstay stamp but I am also curious if I would be able to LEAVE?
